NEW for 2026-2027!

We have some very exciting updates this year.

We are very excited to announce that we have reopened the Central building to welcome our 4th and 5th graders. (the building with the cafeteria, original location of Imagination Factory). This building will be aligned with North Elementary, known as "North Elementary - Downtown Campus" in some communications.

The current North Elementary will still be "North Elementary" to welcome our EK-3rd graders. May be referred to as "North Elementary - North Campus" in some communications.

The current IMHS building will now be known as "Iron Mountain Middle and High School" to welcome our 6-12th graders.

  • EK-3 will be located at North Elementary - North Campus (900 5th St, Iron Mountain, MI)
  • 4-5 will be located at North Elementary - Downtown Campus (217 W. Hughitt St. Iron Mountain, MI)
  • 6-12 will be located at Iron Mountain Middle and High School (300 W B St, Iron Mountain, MI)
A high-angle aerial drone photograph capturing a sunny day in Iron Mountain, Michigan, looking toward the school district campus. In the lower-left foreground, a "Main Street Pizza" restaurant with a gray roof is visible next to a parking lot. To the lower right, the top of a "St. Vincent De Paul" building is partially visible. A multi-lane main street runs horizontally across the lower middle section with a few vehicles driving. Across the street sits a large, modern tan-brick school complex. Behind this complex rises a prominent historic stone church with two tall green steeples. To the far left, a historic multi-story red brick school building stands near another parking area. The entire scene is backed by rolling green hills dotted with early red and orange fall foliage under a bright sky.

Additional Information

IMPORTANT! Review Your Child's Immunization Records

All students entering EK, K, and 7th grade for 2026-27 school year, as well as any newly enrolled students since January 1st, will be audited for vaccinations this coming fall. These audits have an affect on our funding. If you have a child in this category please make sure their immunizations are current over the next 3 months. All public school children must have an up to date immunization record or a waiver on file to attend. If you choose not to vaccinate, you will still need to go to the health department for a waiver appointment.

Visit the CDC website at http://www.cdc.gov/vaccines for the complete immunization schedule.

Most 7th graders will need to begin their Meningococcal Series and get a Tdap booster to begin school in the fall.

For more information or to schedule an appointment, call:

    Dickinson-Iron District Health Department at (906) 774-1868 or (906) 265-9913

Excerpt from Student Handbook (page 20)

Student driving and parking on District property is a privilege, not a right, that may be revoked at any time. Students who drive to school must obey the following rules:

    • Students may not move their vehicles, sit in, or be around their vehicles during the school day without permission from administration.
    • Students may not drive carelessly or with excessive speed on school grounds.
    • By driving to school and parking on school grounds, students and parents consent to having that vehicle searched when school officials have reasonable suspicion that a search will reveal a violation of school rules, Board Policy, or law.
    • Students must park in the outlined parking spots in the student parking lot, located next to the Izzo Building. Students who choose to park on the street assume all responsibility for any damages that occur during the school day.
